When you find something new, fascinating, interesting, different you want to dive in full of hopes and dreams, adrenaline and expectations. This is all great until a little time passes and you realise it might take longer to get to the position you want. After this all those feelings you had start to slip away making you wanting to try the next thrilling thing. Well if you live your whole life this way you will never exceed in anything. You may have tried everything but you never stuck around enough to become a professional. In day trading this is the same. If you only put in 50% effort you will be rewarded 0.5%. You need to out 100% effort in every day just to receive 1% reward from it. That’s how difficult it is. But once you’ve mastered the skill you only need 10% effort to receive 90% reward. That sounds a little better doesn’t it. The moral of the story is motivation cannot be the fuel to your success. Motivation runs out, it’s finite. Sometimes you have it and sometimes you don’t. It’s not reliable. You need discipline. You do it when you’re happy, when you’re tired, when you’re motivated and when you can’t be bothered. This is the way to success. You do want to succeed right? Of course you do otherwise you would have stopped reading already. If you made it this far build your foundation with discipline and your journey will be a much smoother and easier ride.
